Go to BO > Modules > Minic Slider, configure
In the module configuration pick the first slide and remove the Caption and Title (or replace them with your text)

To hide Buy now button in Promo minic slider add this code to the Theme Settings > Custom CSS

Go to Theme Settings module and find there tab Custom Css tab http://c2n.me/j845AN
And paste there the code. Then Press Apply settings button

This is Products Carousel module. You can turn it off in Theme Settings > Home page
