Hello,
Your site is in maintenance page, I cannot see it.
http://c2n.me/jhueWL
The subcategories description should appear only on the subcategory page http://c2n.me/jhuvGZ

To remove it from main category page add this code to the Theme Settings > Custom CSS

#category #subcategories .cat_desc {display:none !important}

Hi,
I cannot see your site http://c2n.me/jhMLxP
Sorry, I thought you were using Alysum 3. In Alysum 2.9 you need to paste code at the end of the file your_site/themes/alysum_2.0/css/alysum.css

cedric 15 Nov 2014, 15:21

Thank you for response,

I work on “ATS 1.1.6 | Alysum theme v. 2.9 | Powered by Promokit Co” I change geolocalisation parameters, and now you can see on my web site http://www.nail-art-facile.fr/6-vernis I do do your instruction, i paste the code on this file My_site/themes/alysum_2.0/css/alysum.css
#category #subcategories .cat_desc {display:none !important}
…nothing, so i tried to adjust with a “;” at the end like this :
#category #subcategories .cat_desc {display:none !important;}
…nothing

Maybe you have another idea ? (i give you a part of code in .jpg)
Thank you for responses

I have a question : is it possible to put a description on categories ?
In back-office, i write the categorie description but in front-office the screen result is not good.
If i choose to hide subcategorie i dont find anyone description in front office.
For me it’s important for SEO strategy. I know there is the blog function, but i think it’s important to see the categorie description too.

Maybe have you example where i can see the description categorie with alysum theme

Thank you for your help

Hi,
I see this in your category description
http://c2n.me/jiqzGo
http://c2n.me/jiqDgk
When you add the description you’re allowed to use html tags but do not create new classes and IDs
I see that you created new <div id=”TheTexte” class=”Texte”> that Alysum does not have by default. Please remove all the extra classes and IDs from all your descriptions.

If i choose to hide subcategorie i dont find anyone description in front office. Here is your description http://c2n.me/jiqPNd
If you add category description will appear on the image on category page.

cedric 17 Nov 2014, 14:05

Hi,

I see and remove <div id=”TheTexte” class=”Texte”>, but nothing change.

“If you add category description will appear on the image on category page.” Ok but i dont understand why i can’t have a link to clik to develop the description. Where is the rest of the text ?
Is this function exist ?

On this page i can see a few words for description (the same as the back office description) : http://www.nail-art-facile.fr/12-vernis-a-ongles But not on this page and i dont understand the reason because in back office it’s the same parameter (description and image) : http://www.nail-art-facile.fr/11-vernis-stamping.

Do you have an idea ?
Thank you

Kate Support 17 Nov 2014, 14:34

Hi,
Ok but i dont understand why i can’t have a link to clik to develop the description. Where is the rest of the text ? This is default theme behavior. Alysum theme uses short descriptions on the category image, as you can see in the demo http://c2n.me/jivcow
If you need to show full description we can try to move it below the image and increase the text length. But that will be customer modification, which we can offer with our customer paid service. The price will be about 10-15 euro, depending on the time we spend on this modification. If you agree to that please let us know.

But not on this page and i dont understand the reason because in back office it’s the same parameter Prestashop doesn’t support styles in categories descriptions.
Remove the styles and the description will appear.

I would like that you optimize my code in alysum theme. i accept your proposition :

Of course i want to write with balise h1,h2, h3…and use html attribute in the categorie description, link http… in this page http://www.nail-art-facile.fr/12-vernis-a-ongles why i can’t developp description ?

For 10 euros it\’s ok, and i pay by paypal.
How many time do you need for this ?

If in january i decide to migrate in prestashop v1.6, are the modifications will be ok ?
Thank

Kate Support 18 Nov 2014, 17:01

Hi,
I have done the modification. It took more time then I expected. But now you have category description under the image. The description has “More” button to see the full description. http://c2n.me/jj1xYO
Please make 15 euro payment here http://promokit.eu/themes/custom-package/ and inform me when it’s done.
Of course i want to write with balise h1,h2, h3…and use html attribute in the categorie description, link http… You can use simple html tags, links, but not styles. This is Prestashop restrictions, not Alysum.
Right now you have lots of styles in your descriptions and they look pretty mess. You need to remove the styles.

I have add new code at the end of your alysum.css file and also in the file themes/alysum/category.tpl (lines 59-65 were commented out and lines 67-78 were added)
If you decide to update in future just copy these changes from your backup and paste to your updated theme

cedric 18 Nov 2014, 18:45

it’s done.
