Ticket #10938 - Alysum PHP dependance

Hi Marek

I just thought I would update you in that I could not get Alysum 4.6 with PS 1.6.1.15 to work with PHP7. It is a bit strange as the online server runs PHP7 with the theme running with no problems but that was with the site being originally installed with PHP5 then upgraded to PHP7. When I installed PHP5.6 Alysum installed ok (as you predicted) with PS 1.6.1.15.

Similarly Alysum 5.1 would not install with PS 1.7.2.2 under PHP5.6 but was ok with PHP7.1

Cheers

Richard

Hi, Richard.
Have you tested Prestashop platform without Alysum theme?

Hi Marek

I have a Windows based Apache 2.4 with PHP5.6/MySQL setup and with that both Prestashop 1.16.1.15 and Prestashop 1.7.2.2 work out of the box with a fresh install. Only Alysum 4.6 with PS v 1.16.1.15 will install on it. If I try to Alysum 5.1.4 in PS 1.7.2.2 with the add theme button it will end up with the browser showing the page shown in the attachment.

I also have an Antergos Linux machine with Apache2.4/MariaDB and PHP7.1 and I installed both Prestashop 1.16.1.15 and 1.7.2.2 with no problems. When I tried to add Alysum 4.6 to Prestashop 1.16.1.15 it would eventually hang and give an Error 500 on the webpage. Alysum 5.1.4 installed with no problems under PHP7 on the Linux machine.

Hi Marek

Actually I take it all back! Although Prestashop 1.6 and 1.7 with PHP5.6 or PHP7.1 all install and run ok on Windows 10 Apache Alysum 4.6 will not install with Prestashop 1.6 on Windows. The weird thing is I can now get a working 1.6 shop with Alysum running on the Windows PC if I transfer it from the online server.

Oh well I am giving up with Windows and will use a OpenSuSe Linux box with PHP5.6 to maintain the old shop.
I have not tried it but will Alysum 5.1 install to PS 1.7.2.2 under PHP5.6? or will I need to use PHP7?
Unless I can find a way of using both PHP5 and PHP7 on the same Linux box (I have tried it using a NGINX but Prestashop would not install) I will have to setup a dual boot PHP5.6/PHP7 machine to maintain my old shop and build the new one.

Cheers

Hi, Richard.
Alysum 5.x has been developed on localhost with PHP 7.0.1 and works fine.
Our demo http://alysum5.promokit.eu/ running on PHP 5.6 and also works fine.
As for Alysum 4.x I’m not sure it will work fine on PHP 7.x
