FS#11085 - Do not add shipping price to cart total

Hi,

I have a question which is related to the ps_shoppingcart module, but I saw it’s modified in alysum theme as well. In my store I want to turn off free shipping option. In that case when user adds product to cart, he sees item price + shipping price in cart preview. So the total price is including shipping. How to disable adding this shipping price to the total amount until the user gets to checkout page. Cheers.

This ticket does not depend on any other tickets.

RECOVERED COMMENT

====

Apparently it's a theme thing. I changed two lines in the code and got the solution. First of all in themes/alysum/modules/ps_shoppingcart/modal.tpl I removed the line:

<p><strong>{l s='Total shipping:' d='Shop.Theme.Checkout'}</strong>&nbsp;<i>{$cart.subtotals.shipping.value} {hook h='displayCheckoutSubtotalDetails' subtotal=$cart.subtotals.shipping}</i></p>

. This removed the shipping price from ajax cart preview window (my reffered page1). Secondly at themes/alysum/modules/ps_shoppingcart/ps_shoppingcart.tpl I changed this line

<div>{l s='Cart Total' d='Shop.Messages'}: <i>{$cart.totals.total.value}</i></div>

to this

<div>{l s='Cart Total' d='Shop.Messages'}: <i>{$cart.totals.total.value-$cart.subtotals.shipping.value}</i></div>

. So now I dont see the shipping price in cart preview on top right corner as well (my reffered page2).

However, there is one issue, which appeared for me now. If I'm at the front page of my site and hit add to cart button on any product, the ajax cart preview pops-out. If I press there continue shopping, it returns me back to front page. However, all dynamic content from now on is frozen: revolution slider is frozen, pk_awshowcaseslider is frozen and the cart preview on top right corner is not working. Any ideas why? The issue remains if I undo my previous changes. For your record I saw this behavior on Firefox. Chrome seems to be working fine except sometimes it just doesn't show the cart preview on top right corner. Else is fine with chrome.

Sorry, I should have check that before give you a reply. Regarding the issue with frozen, I have checked in Chrome, Safari and Firefox on mac and there is no such problem. I'll check that on windows tomorrow

Yes, I see the issue on windows, only in Firefox. Unfortunately, there is no fast solution, I'll try to find it as soon as possible

Will be waiting for your solution. Another question on the way. With your module pk_products I want to display new items on front page. How the module end up choosing which items to display? Is there any way I can force it to display the items I want (modify that item in BO somehow...)? Now it seems a bit random, even if I create new product, that doesn't mean it will be displayed. And some older ones still have that "new" tag on the photo. Thanks.

You seem have to configure it correctly.

and number of days for new products here http://awesomescreenshot.com/0156eg2s58

Is there any way to update an old product and force it to appear to that category? Or should I delete it and insert to shop from scratch?

Do you want to make product "new", just change the date of creation?

Is that creation date of the product in the mysql database? It doesn't seem that I can change the date of creation for product in BO.

Yes, unfortunately, there is no way to change the date through back office. So if you want to keep some product with "new" label you have to change the date directly in the database
