Ticket #11687 - Change page on category page takes very long time and stays at the bottom

Hi,

When a customer wants to see another page by clicking at the bottom of the listing pages it’s very confusing and I think customers will get frustrated.

It takes a very long time to reload
it doesn’t show a loading gif that could help users understand that it’s working so they don’t click again or get frustrated
It loads the new page is loaded it stays at the bottom of the page instead of going up, like a new page would do.

How to fix?

Thank you!

Hi, Anthony.
Could you please take a screenshot of the links you are talking about?

Sure,

it’s any listing page that has more 30 products, like this one https://boutik-equestre.com/casque-equitation

and if I click on page 3, nothing happens for 3 to 5 seconds

and then this happens:

it loads the products from page 3 but we stay at the bottom of the page.

Yes, I see now.
I’m not sure the issue with the theme, it just use Prestashop methods to show products.
I would recommend you to enable all possible cache and test the issue once again

anthony roffidal 15 Feb 2018, 19:30

Ok I understand,

and I’ve enabled the cache already.

But that’s really a UX problem that leads to customer frustration so can we at least show a loading gif when people click on a new page so they understand that the new page is loading?

Marek 15 Feb 2018, 19:32

That is a good idea to add a loader. I’ll try to make it as fast as I can

anthony roffidal 15 Feb 2018, 19:33

Thanks!

Marek 15 Feb 2018, 22:29

Please check, now it shows loader

anthony roffidal 17 Feb 2018, 18:35

You know what, you’re the best! is it also possible to scroll up automatically when the page is loaded?

Marek 18 Feb 2018, 12:27

I have tried, but there is no fast solution. I’ll try to do that later.

Ok Thank you :)
