Ticket #12667 - Redirect after installation
Hi everybody, I have already asked this question to prestashop support but they didn’t answer me. I know that this questions goes over a simply Promokit Alysum support but i try to ask, perhaps you know how fix
Question:
When I installed my prestashop 1.7.x with Alysum (php 7.1 ver) I found some temporary redirect in my cPanel (where i manage my linux hosting) and if i try to delete these redirect i can’t remove (delete function works but redirect doesn’t remove).
You can see in my attached file.
If you know something about please tell me.
Thank you very much for your work

Hi, Alessandro.
All redirects you can find in the file .htaccess in the root of prestashop. Try to rename it to remove redirects
Thank you for your answer, what have i to rename? htaccess file?
Yes, right
Ok now I try, but after I remove, what have to do with previously .htaccess file? .htaccess file automatically regenerate?
thank you for your support
It’s just for a test to figure our where redirects comes from
I try to rename file .htaccess and redirects don’t appeare more but also site doesn’t work.
I have also opened htaccess file in text editor and i see the redirects but i don’t know if i can delete all redirects in htaccess file or i must not do it to correct functions of my prestashop
I can not help you with that, would be better for you to ask prestashop community
Ok thank you for your answers, i never saw redirects in a lot of previously installations. I have already asked to prestashop community but they don’t answer me, so I try to delete in htacess redirects and try my shop. If it doesn’t work properly i will re-upload old htaccess file
thank you
Ok, no problem
Just for information for other customer: temporary redirects are written by “frendly url” option in Prestashop. If you enable fndly url it change .htaccess and allow some redirect (rewrite mode). with php ver 7.2 this redirect will be show in cPanel server management. If you use previously PHP ver theu don’t show in cPanel.
example of .htaccess with frendly url on in attached file
Thank you for sharing.
There are a lot of surprises with php 7.2
Sure a lot surprise, but these are not the surprise that we want :)
you are welcome!!
