Ticket #15128 - Alysum Theme 1.7.6 has gone awry

Hi there,
I hope you can please help.

We have installed your theme into Prestashop 1.7. Everything installed fine it seemed.

The theme template we have chosen is ‘electronic’. I set up the menu links in the very top header position. This was:

Sign in or Register
Language
Currency
Contact us
My account
search

I then added some extra menu links in the menu which sits next to the search bar. These are:

Sign In / Up
My Account
Watch List (0)
WishList

Everything was fine yesterday. But when I came into work this morning, the theme had changed. There was an error message where the currency was supposed to be saying there was no module assigned. This isn’t a great problem as we don’t need the currency module, but the others had disappeared all except for Sign-in and Search. The ‘search’ link that is there does not work when you click on it.

Similarly, if you click on the ‘watch list(0)’ which is in the second row menu in the header, nothing happens.

I also noticed that the category module down the left hand side of the home page had disappeared. I have put it back via the page-builder, but all of the styles have gone and it looks ugly.

In have tried to edit them menus in the header via the back-end, using ‘Layout Builder – > Header’. But what is shown on this page is not what is shown on the site. I have cleared the cache. So the back-end does not match the front end.

I also wanted to change the colour of the background of the header. I followed your tutorial instructions. So I go to ‘Theme-settings –> Header. But there is no input filed that enables me to change the background colour. It is shown in your tutorial screen capture of the page, but it is not showing up in my back-end.

So there are a lot of problems that suddenly happened over night. Nobody has touched the site during this time so I have no idea why this has happened.

I would be most grateful if you could please help us put all of these problems right, and also for us to feel confident that this isn’t going to happen again?

I have no idea why it happened.
1. Did you try to add missed widgets to the header builder? https://take.ms/4uzJC

2. There is no sense to have a link “search” and Search input. I suppose you can remove that link.
3. As for the background, you can also change it here https://take.ms/KZOFC

I upgraded some of the modules that needed doing, but nothing else.

I don’t want the search there, I just put it here as a test. but the other links have disappeared from the front even though they are in the back-end.

but the search link I put in as a test and the ‘watch list’ don’t do anything when you click them.

We obviously need to get all of this working. Can you not suggest a way for us to be able to get this operating correctly?

To answer your questions:

1. The page builder for the header shows that we have ‘ps_shoppingcart’ added, but it does not show up on the website. The ps_customersignin is also there, but that does show up.I have also re-added ps_currencyselector, but again this is not showing up on the site. The second row which shows the search bar in the front-end also shows Watch List and Wish List which I set up a few days ago. The watch-list link in the front end does nothing when you click it.
2. I will remove it, but why are the others not showing up?
3. Thanks for this information, I will change it.

For some unknown reason, the categories module down the left-hand side has now suddenly reappeared?

As I can see you have disabled prices and “add to cart” button as well. It means you have enabled/disabled some option in your Prestashop. Please try to find it yourself, that is not related to the theme

Stephen Selwyn 18 Jul 2019, 16:58

I turned those off on purpose.

That is not the problem. The problem is that using the theme page builder, the very top row is not showing up items that are in the page builder. So for example, if I go to the layout builder and choose Header Builder, I can see 3 modules in the first block. These are Shopping Cart, ps_customersignin and ps_currencyselector. All of these are showing up in the back-end. But they are not being displayed in the front-end.

I still don’t see a price and “add to cart” button https://www.evidentupdate.co.uk/index.php?id_product=2&id_product_attribute=9&rewrite=brown-bear-printed-sweater&controller=product#/1-size-s

That’s why “Shopping cart” is not shown too

Oh hang on…

I have just worked out what is happening. The theme only shows items from the top menu once someone is logged in.

Do you have any idea why the watch-list link does not do anything?

Thanks for all your help.

Seems something was changed in prestashop and now it doesn’t register visits of product pages. I’ll try to figure out what’s wrong and provide a fix asap

Marek 18 Jul 2019, 18:31

Watch List has been fixed

Stephen Selwyn 19 Jul 2019, 10:47

That’s great. Thanks so much for your help.
