Ticket #16828 - Product comments module

Hi Fred,
Some time ago I had a module in place that allowed buyers to leave a comment on the products and rate them with stars, but you removed it from the theme because it was causing problems.

I see in the changelog that in version 5.3.8 you have adapted the theme to the Product Comments v.4.0.x module, but I am not able to install it because it returns an error.

Would you be so kind as to send me a file with the module so that I can download it please?.

Kind regards.

Hi, Laura.
The module Product Comments has been installed

Laura 04 Mar 2020, 18:57

Although I have configured the module to allow guest reviews, the review does not save it and I think it may be because the form does not ask for any name (author).
Could you take a look please?.
Regards.

Hi, Laura.
I have tried to fix comments and I renamed the folder /override/controllers to check possibility of the issue in overrided files. Then I renamed the folder back with the original name “controllers” but now your website doesn’t load all urls correctly. As I can see you have some module which manage URLs, but I don’t want to touch it.
Please check the settings

Fred 08 Mar 2020, 11:23

You need to do the following:

Parámetros Avanzados -> Rendimiento -> Limpiar la Smarty Cache
Parámetros Tienda -> SEO and URLs -> Set userfriendly URL off -> Guardar
Parámetros Tienda -> SEO and URLs -> Set userfriendly URL on -> Guardar
Laura 08 Mar 2020, 11:34

I cant set off friendly URL, can you take a look?

Fred 08 Mar 2020, 11:35

I’m not able to switch Friendly URL‘s off, and I have no idea why. Some module doesn’t let to do that

Fred 08 Mar 2020, 11:39

Friendly URL‘s are disabled now, and website works correctly. But now I’m not able to enable it back. Please try yourself

Laura 08 Mar 2020, 11:45

The website doesnt works, its down

:(

When i turn on friendly URL i can see The same mesagge than before

Fred 08 Mar 2020, 11:47

it’s not down. it works for me https://take.ms/B58cs

I’ll try to figure out what’s wrong with the configuration. What modules do you use to manage URLs?

Fred 08 Mar 2020, 11:51

I see the following messages when I try to enable Friendly URL‘s

Palabra clave "{id}" requerida para ruta "category_rule" (regla: "{rewrite}/")
Palabra clave "{id}" requerida para ruta "supplier_rule" (regla: "supplier/{rewrite}/")

what means you (or some module) changed default settings what doesn’t allow to enable Friendly URL‘s

Laura 08 Mar 2020, 12:07

The website is down.

I cant chas nge the friendly URL feature because its off and i cant see The fuul form. I dont have access into data base right now

:(

Fred 08 Mar 2020, 12:09

Back office and front office works fine for me https://take.ms/U3Drd and Database connection as well

Fred 08 Mar 2020, 12:25

you need to disable or uninstall the module what changed managed URLs, and then enable Friendly Urls

Fred 08 Mar 2020, 12:40

As I can see some module brakes native prestashop URL rewrites system
You just need to do the following:

- Disable that module
- Parámetros Avanzados -> Rendimiento -> Limpiar la Smarty Cache
- Parámetros Tienda -> SEO and URLs -> Set userfriendly URL off -> Guardar
- Parámetros Tienda -> SEO and URLs -> Set userfriendly URL on -> Guardar

Hi Fred,
I had managed to solve the problem by uninstalling the module that modifies the nomenclature of the friendly urls, resetting the database values and reinstalling everything.
But then the AMP navigation did not work, so I went to the theme settings, deactivated AMP, activated it again, and now the store again has 404 error again.

I can not give up the friendly url that I already had configured and neither to the AMP navigation.

Do I restore a backup and recheck the incidence of comments again ?, or do you prefer to take a look at the urls and AMP ?.

Fred 09 Mar 2020, 19:51

Hi, Laura.
Sorry for making so much problems for you, but that is not my fault.
As for the AMP, it’s fixed now.
As for the comments module, I’ll continue tomorrow.
You don’t need to restore a backup

Laura 10 Mar 2020, 13:09

Hi Fred,
In the next few days I will make a promotional campaign and it is very important that the store keeps running.

As soon as you have solved the comments let me know and I try it.

Regards.

Fred 11 Mar 2020, 10:35

Hi, Laura.
May I reinstall the comments module?

Laura 11 Mar 2020, 11:59

Hi Fred,
Yes, you can reinstall it if you need it.

Just make sure that the store is operational later.

I have not told you but since we had the problem with the friendly urls, the module for generating shipping labels with the transport company stopped working and is not yet fully resolved …

Regards.

Fred 11 Mar 2020, 14:54

Now product comments works fine

Laura 21 Mar 2020, 18:48

Hi Fred,
I’ve been testing it but the guest comment option doesn’t work.

When the “Allow guest comments” functionality is active, the form does not display a box to enter the name and the comment is not submitted, nor does it display any errors.

Also, some translations are not shown, I have attached a screenshot.

Also, I would like to place the star rating above the add to cart button, but I don’t see that it is a configurable option in the page builder.

I have attached a screenshot.

Again I have troubles with your website.
I just changed the position of Add a comment button in the file

/themes/alysum/templates/catalog/product.tpl

but didn’t see any changes in the product page. Then I go to back office and clear the cache https://take.ms/mmpiI and get the same issue with urls as before. Could you please check that? I’m afraid to touch anything there more
