Ticket #17352 - how to correctly upload a theme & modules update
Hi!
I have installed the Alysum 5.2.4 version and I want to install the 5.4 including the AMP.
If I go to check for the update from the “check update” button in Theme Settings, I get the message :
Theme Updates . Update service is temporary unavailable! Please try later. (I attach screenshot)
I downloaded the update from the developer’s website but I didn’t upload it properly and had to restore the last backup…
Can I do it later from Theme Settings or do you have a tutorial “how to correctly upload an update”?
Best Regards,
Cristina

The best way in your case is to install it from scratch, like described in the documentation http://alysum5.promokit.eu/promokit/documentation/#installation_via_ps
Should I do something so I don’t lose the translations?
all modules translations are stored in the “translations” folder of each module. Themes translation stored in the database.
Don’t forget to make a backup before
Hi, I tried the update as you told me to, but it tells me that Alysum is already installed and to remove it if I want to continue.
If I delete it I will lose all the settings?

tema ya instalado.png(30.2 KiB)you don’t have to install it once more. Just update all files
OK! I’ll load the last backup again… Sorry for the awkwardness… If the version I have is 5.2, should I upload the latest update directly or should I go update by update?
When I recover last night’s backup, I’ll also lose what you fixed in ticket #17351 (the menu button in mobile version)
There is no difference, but 5.2 version is a bit outdated and I’m not sure automatically update will finish successfully
Hello!
I tried to do it manually and it really gives me a lot of trouble… (my level is very basic)
And I can’t do the automatic update because it shows a message that it’s not available… What can I do?
I’m going back to upload yesterday’s backup…
Hello!
Do you think I have any chance to successfully upgrade? or is the best option to uninstall the theme and install it again? (knowing that I will have to rework the translations and page construction)
What do you recommend?
I can try to make an update for you, is store ready? can I start?
YES PLEASE!! i’M READY!
I just finished an updated, now you have to configure it
OK!! i’M GOING TO DO IT NOW!
THANK YOU!!
you are welcome
Good morning!
The upgrade is working great and we have the website almost ready.
We have detected that since the update, the Analytics module (THE FREE VERSION) does not work. Actually, it is developed for prestashop 1.6, but it had been working for us until now in 1.7.
If we have to move to the payment module, we will, but can you confirm that there is no incompatibility?
There was a problem with that module and I have renamed it’s folder. Try to install the latest version of module
As for payment modules, I can’t confirm because we didn’t check that, you have to try yourself
Hello!
We have another problem since the upgrade. The translations of the e-mails are partial. I’ve entered to translate them from International/ translations/
Type of translation: e-mails
Content: message body
Language: Catalan
And I get the warning (I attach image) and I translate it here:
“There is an e-mail directory for the language “ca”, but not for the default language (ca) "
Sorry, I forgot to attach the file so you can see in which modules ( 7 modules ) this warning is given.
I’m doing the translations again and the modifications are not saved, I understand that this happens because you don’t have a directory where to save them?
What should I do?

traducciones mail.png(178.3 KiB)Hi, ximplets catalans.
Yes, but we don’t know Catalan language to make translation
Hello!
It would be a surprise if you spoke Catalan! hahahahaha
I do the translations with the translation tool from the “international - translations” menu, but they are not saved…
Ok, I see :)
Please check the permissions of the folders at the screenshot you sent me before. As I think prestashop just don’t have permissions to write files
Excuse me… but I don’t understand what you’re saying. Where do I check the permissions?
This question is not related to the theme, please check out this article, for example https://www.getastra.com/blog/prestashop-security/prestashop-file-folder-permissions/
Good morning!
I have just granted all the permissions of the folders indicated in the “warning” including all the directories and files that contain.
Cris
I don’t understand the problem.
as you can see in that list not only our modules https://take.ms/KP9gy The problem is definitely not related to the theme.
DONE! THANK YOU!
Cris
