Ticket #4993 - Having Trouble with Alysum showing up on my prestashop

I installed the Alysum theme onto my Prestashop site today. When I go to my site, there are no default examples shown. On my dashboard, I am unable to find any of the modules and I am not able to follow any of the steps to get this theme to work with my website. I am not even able to see the “image” on “preview image for the theme” however it says that the current theme is Alysum. I have gone through every tutorial I could find on the web and have had NO success getting this theme to show up properly on my website.

Thank you

I can not get the modules uploaded in the back office

Kate Support 13 May 2014, 08:30

Hello, did you use the “Add new theme” button in Preferences > Themes to install Alysum?
This button doesn’t work well. Please try this solution here

Thank you!

Kate Support 13 May 2014, 14:52

You’re welcome :)

Jessica 13 May 2014, 15:03

Okay, so now that the theme is working, the Theme Settings Module is not showing up properly. It won’t show the pattern options and the buttons are all in the wrong places. Also, every time I upload a photo, whether it be my logo or background photos, it shows a framed question mark. I attached a photo of what the appearance of my Theme Settings Module

Jessica 13 May 2014, 15:10

Everything having to do with the Theme has a question mark?? Attached.

Did you do both automatic and manual installations?
Also did you regenerated thumbnails in Preferences > Images after theme installation?

Jessica 13 May 2014, 16:04

I did do both manual and automatic. I did the regeneration after the first installation, the manual installation where I used the “add a theme” button

Jessica 13 May 2014, 16:18

And I just regenerated again after I did the Automatic Installation with the download import/export you sent me. Still am getting a really jumbled “theme Setting” page

Jessica 13 May 2014, 16:26

Another example of what I see when I open the Theme settings

Jessica 13 May 2014, 16:50

Even the Documentation at installation does not work….attached is the screen i get.

Kate Support 13 May 2014, 16:54

Please fill the fields of access to the back-office and the FTP in your profile http://support.promokit.eu/index.php?do=myprofile and I will try to help you.

Jessica 13 May 2014, 17:23

All done. Let me know if you need more info. Thank you

Jessica 13 May 2014, 20:42

Any luck??

Alex 14 May 2014, 11:58

Hi. Ftp settings is wrong. Please fill the right server address name and login

The problem with the theme. I suppose some problems with the files permissions.
Check the files folders in the site folder it should be
folders 755 and files 644

Jessica 14 May 2014, 14:08

I found my FTP username and updated it. I never made a password for that FTP, so let me know if the password does not work?

Jessica 14 May 2014, 14:14

I am also unsure what it means to check those files. I went under folders and found those numbers but am unsure what to be checking for :(

Jessica 14 May 2014, 14:16

I really did not think it would take 3 days to get this theme applied to my site when I bought it. I am very discouraged.

Alex 14 May 2014, 16:16

I really did not think it would take 3 days to get this theme applied to my site when I bought it. I am very discouraged. In most cases theme installation goes fine without any troubles. But I will gladly help you.

As I see in the FTP folders from Alysum_theme.zip/modules
in the your_site/themes/alysum/modules

it’s wrong.

copied them into the right place site/modules

and now it seems ok.
just regenerate the thumbnails Preferences>Images

Jessica 14 May 2014, 18:13

Thank you very much.

I can now see the Theme Settings module as it should appear.

Now, when I upload any photos/my logo, I get the “question mark” photo again…attached. Also, when I went to put my logo in as text, it shows up with the font and color I want on the preview on the backend however, it does not change the font and color on the actual website.

Hi.
I tried to upload the logo via Preferences>Themes and see the same issue. This is not our theme fault. This is Prestashop feature. Please apply to the Prestashop forum.

2) Theme settings change fonts. Yes I see the issue. We will check the reason and help you soon.
3) Also I see this issue http://clip2net.com/s/i7xOtU
Just set the right modules positions for displayTop here Preferences>Modules>Positions

Jessica 15 May 2014, 14:31

1. I have contacted Prestashop and hopefully they will have a way to figure it out. Before I installed this theme, all of my photos and my logos showed up? It makes me think it could have something to do with the theme but I will see what they say.
2. Please let me know when you get the fonts figured out
3. I am unable to follow what you want me to do here to fix the logo running into the search bar.
4. Any update on why all of my photos show up as question marks? They upload to wordpress and they uploaded to Prestashop. Now that I have installed this theme, just like my logo, they will not show up. I get a “?” in a frame.

Thank you.

I am completely unsatisfied with both the theme and all of it’s issues and am also very disappointed with the customer service. There is at least a half a day in between each comment, and each comment does not even inform me of information that helps me make progress. What does “We will check the reason and help you soon” really mean? Maybe in a few more days? I am trying to get a business up and running here but ever since I installed this theme, I can not even get a photograph or my logo to show up. The theme was ALL jumbled when I installed it and it took 2 days just go be able to see the theme’s modules?! I would like someone to email me directly asap.

Alex 16 May 2014, 00:37

It’s so sad to read such comments. Sorry us if you really think that is our fault.

– Theme installation
With the theme you have instruction how to install our theme. I really don’t know how did you do that but all the files that should be in the site/modules where in the site/themes/alysum/modules. It lead to your problems with the installation.

There is at least a half a day in between each comment Really? half a day? http://clip2net.com/s/i7LRjf
Please look at the time when we answer to you. I don’t understand your complaint about that.

What does “We will check the reason and help you soon” really mean?
That means that we didn’t get such issues from our customers and wee need to check your issue.

And the most important: If you need our help ASAP because you have time limits you should inform about that. We really like our customers and always try to help them.

1) Our theme can’t prevent to images upload process. Our theme only adds front office look+new modules for front-office+some another functionality in the front office. Everything that you see in the Back-office this is Prestashop functionality.
2) We will try to help you ASAP tomorrow in the morning with the problem of fonts.
3) Sorry I forgot to paste the link to the documentation alysum.promokit.eu/documentation/#order
Modules positions should be as in the documentation.
Fixed for you.
4) This is PS issue but I will try to help you tomorrow if I have a time for that

Jessica 16 May 2014, 01:59

Thank you, I appreciate it.

I am just frustrated because it seems like from the start, at installation, that nothing was working as it was supposed to. I appreciate your help. I have not heard back from Prestashop but will inform you of what they say if they give me some insight on the issue.

Marek 16 May 2014, 10:01

Hello Jessica.
I need an access to your back office, but there is no password in your profile.
And don’t worry we will help you.

Jessica 19 May 2014, 16:51

Marek,

It is updated. Thank you

Marek 19 May 2014, 23:05

Hello Jessica.
You seems have two shops, and I don’t know which are you using. So I go to the back office http://www.therusticfeather.com/psadmin and changed settings of the http://www.therusticfeather.com I have changed the logo settings and it works fine, you can check that.
Have you some other issues, exclude described issues of prestashop platform?

Jessica 20 May 2014, 17:43

Marek,

The logo text allowed me to change the color of the text once, but now when I am trying to update it, it will no longer let me change the color and settings of the text.

-The size of the font of the shop slogan will not change.

-The button and text color will not change. I change on the Theme Settings Module and then update my site, and the default grey and red buttons are still showing up.

-What size do the photos on the sliders need to be to show up the best? PNG and JPEG will work just fine if I have it on that setting, right?

-I still can not get my photo of my logo to show up. I have a jpeg and a png format of my logo and neither will show up.

Why is it that everything needs to be fixed to work on my prestashop?

Thanks you.

Marek 21 May 2014, 12:05

- It seems a cache of your browser, because it works fine for me http://awesomescreenshot.com/0422u9fz14 - regarding the images you can read here: http://www.sitepoint.com/gif-png-jpg-which-one-to-use/ It’s not an issues of our theme, it’s an issue with cahce of your server, and some problems of prestashop platform.
