Ticket #7760 - Update to Alysum 4.2

Hello,

Could you please help me with my theme on www.premamu.eu?

I updated Alysum 3.2 to 4.2 via 1-click update this morning and I don´t know why things are not working after update :(

At first I had a module error, I found solution here on forum ( FS#7103 )

Now for example Promo Minic Slider:

1. Alysum Theme Settings - Promo Minic Slider is ON (Show is Green)
2. Promo Minic Slider module - slides are Active (green check)
3. Promo Minic Slider is not visible on homepage.

I am still working on non-active eshop, but I am not sure how will I work with Alysum in the future, when eshop will be active with online customers.

I updated theme and my homepage is disaster :(

I am only trying what can I configure, how it should/could look, it is not final version, but why I have modules disabled or not working after update? How can I avoid this in the future?

It is not only Promo Minic Slider, I am sure I had Facebook module configured but there is an error on homepage …

Logo and cart moved, header gone, colors changed, I cannot see Flex menu right…

Then on my product page there were product filters on right side, now they are at the bottom, bellow products.

Also I had to regenerate thumbnails, will this by necessary after every update?
I did it part by part:
- products - home_alysum - regenerate
- products - small_alysum - regenerate …etc. but:
- products - thickbox_alysum gave mi error - I suppose because max execution time (?) so I set up Erase previous images to NO and then it gone through.
But nothing changes, I still cannot see product images.

I have tried to find a solution for these problems myself but there are so many I am giving up :(

I am not sure if I should set up a task for every problem or if all of this has one solution, so I let it on you, sorry :/

I did a DB backup before update.

I will be thankful for any help.
Zuzana

Hi,
Module “1-click update” is to update only the Prestashop not Alysum theme. Your current theme version is still Alysum 3.2 http://c2n.me/3iyYzJx
The best way to update from alysum 3.x to 4.x is:
1. Make backup of your shop.
2. Go to the modules section in your back office and uninstall following modules:

  1. Alysum Theme Settings
  2. pk_awShowcaseSlider
  3. Isotope Product Filter
  4. Manufacturers Carousel
  5. productsCarousel

3. Go to “Advanced Parameters” > “Performance” and set “Template compilation” to “Force Compile” and “Cache” to “no”
4. Copy folders “modules” and “themes” to the root of your prestashop and replace all files
5. Go to the modules section in your back office and install following modules if someone is not installed:

  1. About Us Block
  2. Advertising Block with video background
  3. Awkward Showcase Slider
  4. Banner Carousel
  5. Blocks of features
  6. Bottom Products Carousel
  7. Customer Testimonials
  8. Custom Links
  9. Extended Newsletter
  10. Facebook Like Box
  11. FlexMenu
  12. Footer Links
  13. Isotope Product Filter
  14. Layered Slider
  15. Manufacturers Carousel
  16. Minic Slider
  17. Products Carousel with tabs
  18. Promo Minic slider
  19. Sequence Slider
  20. Single Products Carousel
  21. Small Advertising Slider
  22. Theme Settings
  23. Twitter Feed
  24. Vertical FlexMenu

If you have some problems with the homepage modules after the update try to reset them one by one. It should fix the issue

Regards!

Hi Kate,

Sorry I wrote it wrong, I updated it with “Update Theme” button in Alysum Theme settings (not with 1-click update).

I don´t know why there is still written “Alysum v. 3.2” because I tried it with that button and also copy/paste files manually. I didn´t uninstalled the modules you wrote above tho.

Do you recommend to try it manually again? I mean uninstall and copy and install…

If yes, I just wanna be sure, I should copy from: themeforest-2622574-alysum-premium-responsive-prestashop-16-theme.zip\updates\prestashop-1.6.x - every folder placed in 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 (folder 4.0 is empty). Am I right?

Thanks for your help.

Have a great day :)

Hi,
I didn´t uninstalled the modules you wrote above tho. It’s important to uninstall these modules
Go to your BO > Modules uninstall old modules versions and install new ones
http://c2n.me/3izZ5qR
It should fix the problem

Hi,

Soooo, I uninstalled Alysum Theme settings v. 1.3.5 and installed v 2.9 as shown on your picture, but now it is only worse :(

Even configuration of Theme setting is strange itself. Homepage is without footer…logo is gone…category page…ok, I do not have words for category page…

Please check it up yourself at premamu.eu

Thanks,

Hi,
I didn’t see it at first but you had 3 Theme Settings modules : from Alysum 2, Alysum 3 and Alysum 4 (don’t know how you get Alysum 2 theme settings :) )
So I delete Alysum 2 Theme Settings and install Alysum 4 Theme Settings instead.
Now the FO works fine. But you still need to do the manual update because as I see that not all the modules were updated properly.
Open the folder 4.3 from the archive themeforest-2622574-alysum-premium-responsive-prestashop-16-theme.zip\updates\prestashop-1.6.x and copy folders “themes” and “modules” to your main site folder.

Hi Kate,

It looks good now :)

I did update as you wrote above.

There is only one Alysume Theme module now.

But e.g. Facebook module - there is

Facebook like box v 2.4 by promokit.eu - Installed
Facebook Like Box for Alysum v 2.1 by promokit.eu - Uninstalled

May I delete the old one? I just don´t want this situation happen again in the future, so if this module is not necessary I better delete it, right?

Thanks again for all your help.

Yes, you can delete older modules versions :)
