Ticket #8137 - Popup Message v1.1

Kate,

With reference to a previous support task that was closed, I kindly request more information on the following:

Module: Popup Message v1.1

Issue1:
I have received feedback from my customers that the Popup message is never displayed in IE browsers.

Issue2:
Is it possible to get the module to change the life of the cookie, so that the popup message is re-displayed after say every week?

The issue is that some users may close the popup window on first visit without reading the message! This also happens when a user
uses a “popup blocker”, and even after disabling the block for the site, the user is then never shown the message..

Thanks

Hi Stefan.
I just tested Alysum in IE9, 10 and 11 and popup works fine.
Regarding the time of cookies life, popup will be displayed always after a customer will close the browser and open it again.

Marek,

We have re tested on three different computers in the office now, as one IPAD that was available- same issue, the popup is not showing!

I now have to figure out why it is working when you view it, but not when we do..alternatively I would have to disable the module and accept as a bug in our specific deployment.

I obviously don’t want to waste your time, and appreciate all the assistance we have received from your team since purchasing the Alysum Premium theme.

as a side note:
Interesting is that The “cookie policy” popup message is always displayed at the bottom of the page..

Regards

Hi.
1) Is it your site where you have a cookie problems https://www.rocketry.org.za/store/ ? I will check it on my IE.
How I don’t see popup module in any browsers. Did you disabled it somehow?
2) Regarding the time of cookies life, we can do that popup will be displayed always after a customer will close the browser and open it again. If you need this change we can do that.
3) Interesting is that The “cookie policy” popup message is always displayed at the bottom of the page.. It should work the same as Popup module.

Ok, been waiting for the module developer to get back to me..

Here is what the module developer reported:

We noticed some strange things coming from the theme which causes the popup not to show.
The module is hooked on the footer to display when the full page is loaded. However, the footer isn’t called correctly.

          {if isset($theme_settings) && ($theme_settings.footer == 1)}
              {$HOOK_FOOTER}
          {/if}

I recommend you to reach the theme’s developer to learn more about this “theme_settings.footer”, or maybe you know what it is.
