But this error came after installing the prestashop Alysum theme, it wasn’t there before when I installed the shop

This error is not related to the theme. You need to contact your hoster

Faisal Khan 04 Sep 2015, 15:00

How can you even say that its not related to the theme??

I have done a fresh installation of prestashop for you. The new link for the BO is in the FTP, and I have updated the password. Please check if the error is still there… Its gone!!!! Its something related to the theme.

The shop is currently on default theme. I have uploaded the Alysum theme .zip in the themes folder, if you please Preferences> Themes> Add a new theme>Import from FTP> and select archive Alysum-v.4.4.zip. Install it and check the error it will come over there and pk_themesetting won’t install either.

“pdo_mysql” depends on your hoster provider if he support mysql databases.
It’s not something that can be caused or fixed on the theme side.

You can find many posts about similar issue at Prestashop forum.
Example https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/224667-pdo-mysql-error/

Please contact your hoster and ask to check this error. It might be the reason that theme cannot be installed properly
